Natural beauty and cultural wealth; Spain is defined by its warmth – not just by its climate, but also by its people. And to experience that in the very best way as a visitor to Iberia, I think you have to choose a B&B. They’re small in scale, the owners are some of the nicest people you’ll meet, and you’ll generally be far away from all the crowds.
Perhaps you’ll find yourself in a little mountain village, amongst a grove of olives, or looking out onto a secluded beach spot (yes, they do exist!). If you’ve also chosen to get a rental car, suddenly the real and authentic Spain, with all its dusty back roads, opens right up to you.
A Bed & Breakfast also called a B&B, is a small-scale holiday accommodation where you can enjoy breakfast every morning. They are often located in rustic places, away from mass tourism. You will be welcomed with open arms!
A road trip shows you the enormous cultural and natural wealth of Spain. You have a number of Spanish islands with bustling cities, but out of season and away from the cities you discover a completely different side. For example, I found a completely different side of Ibiza and Mallorca after receiving unique tips from the owners of the B&B here for things to do in the area.
They are real locals and know better than anyone where you need to be to experience the magic of island life. You can also admire the special landscapes on the islands of Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife. Nature reigns here and it is wonderful to stay at a romantic or rural Bed & Breakfast in Spain.
I must of course not forget the mainland of Spain, where you can all of a sudden come across a rural Bed & Breakfast in the middle of the mountains. In Andalusia, you will find beautiful valleys where countless vultures are out for prey, or historic old towns with Moorish influences! In Catalonia, you become one with nature and you can enjoy beautiful hiking and cycling in the area. On the coast in Alicante, it is wonderful to relax on the beach, but there are also nice villages here where you can enjoy tapas.
If you book a package holiday with me, It always includes stay plus rental car!
