When I start planning a trip to Italy, my heart fills with delight. The impressive Firenze, the unique Venice, the history of Rome, and the deep blue waters of the Italian islands. I find that staying in a B&B is the perfect way to complement Italy’s old-world charms. They’re small in scale and usually feature a charming owner, like Sofia, who hosted me on my last trip to Puglia. She’d greet me each morning with a hearty ‘Buongiorno’ as I opened the shutters of my window.
That’s what I mean when I refer to “the personal touch” and it’s why I regularly return to these small-scale paradises.
