A sun holiday in December is one of my favourite activities. I often think back to a few years ago when I was in Madeira for a short holiday over Christmas. The capital Funchal was beautifully decorated with lights and Christmas trees, what a pleasant sight! On December 23, the streets fill with people dancing and partying during Funchal's well-known market, Mercado dos Lavradores. But the spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks show may have impressed me the most. It's not for nothing that I'm already looking to spend a week away in Madeira again with the festive days! Although it wouldn't surprise me if in Algarve or Costa de Lisboa you can also find a party!
You will also experience unique experiences in Spain when you go on holiday during the Christmas holidays. On the mainland, regions such as Andalusia become colorful and it is also a great experience on the islands such as Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
