When I think about holidays, I always picture myself driving along winding mountain roads. Sometimes there’s a view of the sea, or endless vineyards, or perhaps rugged mountains. Whatever the vista, I’m always on my way to find that special spot that’s unique and quiet. Booking a Fly & drive holiday with me means you get the total package: flights, stay and a rental car.

I couldn't imagine a holiday without my own rental car. There are so many amazing holiday locations I'd never have found without a car. One of my discoveries is Agios Nikita Villas on the Greek island of Lefkada. After passing the pretty little town of Agios Nikita, a small mountain road took me a further 1.5 kilometres into the mountains, where I came across a little orange house. Set between trees, with a private pool and a view of the sea below it was just what I was hoping to find:  small-scale, quiet and breathtakingly beautiful.

Wherever I stay, I always ask the owners to let me in on their locals’ secrets about the surroundings. In Ibiza,I found a wonderful spot to watch the sunset, thanks to my rental car. Similarly, I found the prettiest hidden beaches in Sardinia, this way. When I decided to share my travel experiences with others, one thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to include a rental car. There’s nothing like the ultimate sense of freedom a car can give you while you’re away from daily life and the crowds. And isn't that what we all want?
