Standard Exchange Guarantee - 6 weeks before departure

Free rebooking or adjustments via your My Eliza account up to 6 weeks before departure. 

Applicable on all self-drive holidays to all destinations with any departure date.

Choose to move your holiday to a different destination or simply postpone it to a different date, as long as the self-drive holiday is currently available to book via the Eliza was here website.

How to rebook your holiday through My Eliza

Easy to do yourself

The following steps explain how to rebook your holiday up to two weeks before departure:

  1. Log in to My Eliza.
  2. Go to the booking you want to change and click the "Rebook your vacation" button.
  3. Choose the same accommodation for a later date or a completely new one.
  4. Choose the holiday you want to book and select the correct date, price, and room type(s) in the price table. Is your preferred holiday not yet bookable? Then we cannot guarantee that it will be online in time. In that case, choose another holiday if you want to use the exchange guarantee.
  5. In booking step 1, select the current booking you want to exchange and complete the rest of the booking steps.
  6. Once you have completed the new booking, your previous booking will be cancelled. Refresh your My Eliza page, or open it again to see the cancellation. This can take around 1 hour.
  7. You will then receive several emails, including your booking confirmation. It can take up to 1 hour for you to receive all of the emails.

By going through this process, your new booking will be treated as if it was paid for with a voucher. Your rebooked (canceled) holiday is converted into a voucher which is used to directly pay for your new booking. You will receive confirmation a few minutes after making the booking.

  • Is your new booking cheaper? Then the remaining amount will be converted into a voucher. You can use this voucher to book extras or another holiday. The voucher of the remaining amount will be available in your My Eliza account.
  • Does your new booking have exactly the same price? Then you don't have to do anything.
  • Is your new booking more expensive than your previous booking? Then you will have to transfer the remaining amount to us according to our standard payment terms.

Terms and Conditions

Rebooking means your holiday can be changed or rebooked without any reason.

Standard Exchange Guarantee Conditions
  • The standard exchange guarantee can only be applied, at the latest, 6 weeks before your departure.
  • You can only change your holiday once. If you decide to make a second adjustment, Eliza was here standard terms & conditions apply.
 
General Conditions applicable to Eliza was here Exchange Guarantee
  • You can choose to rebook the same accommodation for a different date or choose another accommodation. Changes can be made depending on availability on our website at the time you make your changes. 
  • Our exchange guarantee is not valid on flight packages booked with Eliza was here.
  • It is not possible to switch from a self-drive holiday to a flight-inclusive package.  
  • On the day of the rebooking, you will have to pay the current price shown on our website. If your new booking is more expensive than your original booking, you will have to pay the difference. If your new booking is cheaper than your original booking, we will issue an exchange credit voucher that is valid for 12 months. This credit voucher can be used to book extras (e.g. luggage, car hire, lessons, ski equipment) or a new holiday. You can ask for the money as a refund 3 months after issuance. If you paid for the original holiday using a credit voucher, the difference will be refunded onto the credit voucher. 
  • These changes can only be completed in the My Eliza account of the main booker.
  • An exchange can only be done by selecting a new package and indicating in the first step of the booking process that you want to exchange your current booking. If you have multiple bookings, you can choose which booking should be rebooked. 
  • It is not possible to rebook your holiday if the original holiday has already been cancelled (by us) or if an announcement of cancellation has been made.
  • Any early booking discounts will expire if the rebooking occurs after the early booking period has passed. 
  • If you decide to cancel the new booking yourself, standard cancellation costs will apply
  • If the new booking is cancelled by Eliza was here, you will receive the total value back as a credit voucher. In the event of a refund, the amount will be deposited onto the exchange credit voucher. 
  • If you use the Exchange Guarantee, you automatically accept the issuance of an exchange credit voucher, thereby voiding your right to request a refund of the relevant amount from Eliza was here. Refunds will only take place 3 months after the rebooking date.
  • These conditions only apply to bookings with Eliza was here (part of Sunweb Group GmbH "Sunweb"). Except for explicit and specific deviations in these terms, a new booking will be subject to ABTA's code of conduct, Eliza was here General Terms & Conditions or the Guarantee Scheme, and SGR (Stichting Garantiefonds Reizen).
  • Eliza was here reserves the right to suspend this implementation and possibly take legal measures in case of improper use of the promotion.
  • Eliza was here reserves the right to terminate the offer, and to change terms, conditions, or information at its own discretion and without prior notice, without Eliza was here being obliged in any way to compensate travellers for damage.
  • Changes, discontinuation, or adjustments to the terms and conditions or the content will be announced by Eliza was here via our website. 
  • These terms and conditions are subject to the same law as the law applicable to the new booking.

Exchange credit voucher - conditions
You will receive the Eliza was here Exchange Refund Credit Voucher because, due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, it gives you the flexibility to rebook the original holiday that you booked with Sunweb Group GmbH, without giving a reason. You will only be able to do this exchange once and you will receive an exchange credit voucher if your new holiday is cheaper than your original holiday.
Validity
The issue date of this credit voucher is the date of the new booking. With this credit voucher, you can rebook a new holiday or book extras (e.g. luggage, car hire, lessons). If you cannot find a suitable holiday, you can request a refund 3 months after the issue date. 

Ownership
The credit voucher is a unique code that will be sent by email to the main booker of the original package. The main booker is the person who made the original booking. Only the main booker can redeem the credit voucher. The main booker is therefore responsible for the code and accountable for any unauthorised usage. If the main booker discovers unauthorised usage of the credit voucher, this must be reported to us immediately. The credit voucher is strictly personal and cannot be transferred to a third party.

Redeem
The credit note can be used as a means of payment for any holiday offered by Eliza was here. The general terms and conditions of Eliza was here apply to your newly booked trip. When making the new booking, you are agreeing to our general terms and conditions. In the unlikely event that your newly booked holiday is also cancelled, by us or by yourself, and you are entitled to a refund, Eliza was here will pay this amount in the form of a credit voucher. You agree to this when making the new booking.
Value
The value of your exchange credit voucher is equal to the total difference in price between your original holiday and the new, cheaper holiday.
